Be A Hero!

Established in 1999, Kids House Wayne Densch Children’s Advocacy Center is a non-profit, accredited Children's Advocacy Center, providing a child-friendly environment for abuse and neglect victims including: law enforcement response, intake and gentle questioning of children, forensic medical examination, and mental health treatment. These services make Kids House a unique, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary agency for abuse intervention, reducing further trauma to the child.

Kids House has grown in response to the needs of our community's children to a staff of 25 with an annual budget of approximately $1.6 million. Under our Interagency Agreement, Kids House professionals work with the county's seven municipal police departments, Seminole County Sheriff's Office, the Office of the State Attorney, Seminole County Public Schools, Department of Children and Families, Community Based Care of Central Florida, Department of Health, Florida Hospital, and Seminole County Mental Health. Based on national accreditation scores and quality of treatment, Kids House has become a place for Child Advocacy Center staff from across the state and nation to learn best practices.

Stand with us in the fight against child abuse.

Dear Friends,

Children and their families have come to know Kids House as a place of hope and healing—but as community needs rise, Kids House must be able to meet those needs so that every child’s cry for help is answered.

As you may know, Kids House relies upon a diverse foundation of support that includes individuals and community partners like you who will stand with us  to protect the defenseless of our community: our children. This fiscal year Kids House has seen over 2,000 children.

As three individuals who are fully invested in the well-being and safety of our community’s children, we eagerly ask for your commitment to support to the fight against child abuse.

The direct value that Kids House provides to our community is apparent.  Stopping abuse and providing adequate treatment can help children avoid   long-term social problems associated with untreated abuse, including drug abuse, mental health disorders, unplanned pregnancies, unemployment, and difficulty achieving  academic success.

Please stand with us once again this year and be part of the solution!  Thank you for helping to serve the children of our community,

We invite you to become a Kids House Hero and provide crucial services to child abuse victims. Your donation of:

$1,500 donation* = 4 months of trauma therapy + a forensic medical exam

$1,000 donation* = 2 months of trauma therapy + a forensic medical exam

$500 donation* = comprehensive forensic medical exam

$250 donation =  assists with basic needs + daycare when the perpetrator is removed from the home

$100 donation =  covers crisis intervention/trauma assessment with the child

*In return for a $500 donation or above, you will be honored as a Kids House Hero. You and/or your business, civic organization, or place of worship will receive a special gift and be recognized on our website, and through various social media and promotions throughout the year as a Hero for our children.   A donation of any size is always appreciated and will go towards helping our kids.

A bad thing happened to my little sister Jasmine when she was just a baby. One night we were at home with my dad while my mom was at work. My dad wasn't around though when we needed him. He was always leaving us alone while he did drugs. Jasmine and I were playing when she swallowed a dime. I wish I could've helped her but I'm too little. When my mom came home, she found Jasmine and she wasn't breathing anymore. I miss Jasmine so much.

If you are concerned a child you know is being abused call, 1-800-96ABUSE.

Jasmine's story is from the Florida Child Abuse Death Review Annual Report published December 2009.
